 欲望的幻真之境--丁雄泉个展曾琼

 看一个纪录片,丁雄泉在荷兰的工作室,他在画一张很大的画,用黑色的毛笔沟出一个女人的眼睛,寥寥几笔,就看到女人的妩媚。一个金发女人抱着一只猫,和他聊天。女人问,你是个快乐的人吗? 丁雄泉说:不是,我是个忧伤的人。从孩童时代起,我一直害羞而孤独,快乐是稀有的事, 一个月一两次?能感到快乐。 因为我不快乐,所以我创造快乐。

 丁雄泉将勾勒好的画纸放在地板上,现在他开始调水彩,刷子果断的在画上涂抹,没有一丝迟疑和犹豫,不可思议的天蓝色,粉红色,明亮得要让人瞎了眼一般。他一边画一边说:我不喜欢冬天,我喜欢春末夏初,那么多的花开放着,那些别人看不到只有我能看到的花。 有许多让我开心的事,性,爱,梦幻,梦幻是那么美妙的事!

 绘画,美食与女人,是享誉国际的华裔艺术家丁雄泉的最爱。丁雄泉出生于中国的殷实上任之家,童年在30年代的繁华上海度过,从小就见识过纸醉金迷的生活。17岁开始他的艺术之旅,在巴黎他遇到了法国的眼镜蛇(cobra)画派,与之交往密切并深受其孩童般天真和原始生命力表现的影响。1960年丁雄泉移民美国,和当时的流行艺术家如安迪沃霍尔等一起,成为当时如日中天的波普艺术和抽象表现主义艺术阵营的一份子,70年代,当抽象艺术无法满足丁雄泉的表达时,他又再次转向到具象表现。 他画女人,画猫咪,鹦鹉,折扇,画山水,他用“滴,流,泼,洒,喷”的方法,在纸上营造浪漫,激情,奔放,妩媚的花花世界。

 在中国近代的国际性艺术名家中,丁雄泉是个非常特别的人。 他是一个没有完成正统的艺术专业教育的人。 艺术无论什么流派,最终是艺术家个人用来表述他和这个世界的关系,他的情感,他个人的生命态度。如同许多喜剧演员,其实是一个忧郁症患者,一个内心孤独和缺乏快乐的人,在他的艺术和个人生活方式中,却毫无禁忌的毫无遮掩地表达了那么多欲望,对女人的欲望,对生活的欲望。丁雄泉自封“采花大盗”,承认自己热爱嫖妓,用泛滥的高饱和度色彩描绘女人,花卉,猫咪,鹦鹉,他用色彩和笔墨在宣纸上放纵和狂欢,和生命的孤独和虚妄对抗,打造他的幻真之景。丁雄泉放纵而任性,不管不顾,中国式的礼教,常人在乎的道德评判,他都弃之脑后,他把他的人生和创作,都变成了饕餮盛宴,灿烂过,燃烧过,享受过,以此逃避生命虚无的黑暗和阴影。

 也许正是没有被束缚过,丁雄泉的创作非常松弛和自由,他在东西方文化中游走,也形成了一种丁氏特有的风格: 荧光,高饱和度的西方色彩, 书法般的笔触及勾勒的线条,宣纸为材料又有中国水墨的意趣。他说他的画就是他的生活和真实,他喜欢真言真语,讨厌假惺惺。他画画,但他毫不在乎被定位流派风格,毫不在乎是否被别人接受,他在回答阮义忠的访问时说:我的胃吃天上的鸽子,海中的黄鱼,地上的猪,我的舌说法语,英语,国语,我的身体和金发碧眼的女人,红发绿眼,黑发黑眼的女人做爱,你有没有看见天上的虹也是虹,蓝,黄。

 “欲望的幻真之境”丁雄泉个展,部分作品来自于丁雄泉在荷兰生活时期曾经的模特,情人的收藏,是丁雄泉予以她的馈赠,是他的欲和爱的一部分。学术讨论是批评家的事,进不进艺术史是史学家的事,而活着并吮吸生命所有的滋味是丁雄泉的事。 无论后人喜不喜欢丁雄泉的生活方式,他留下来的作品,是一个艺术家生命精华的汇集和呈现,而生命本身比概念和学术,更加弥以珍贵。

 In a documentary, Walasse Ting was drawing a very large painting in his studio in the Netherlands. He drew a woman’s eyes with a black brush. A few strokes showed how charming the woman is. A blonde woman was holding a cat and chatting with him. The woman asked, “Are you a happy person?” Walasse Ting answered, “No, I am a sad person. Since childhood, I have been shy and lonely.   Happiness is rare for me. I only feel happy once or twice a month. Because I am not happy, I create happiness.”

 Walasse Ting put the sketched paper on the floor, and now he began to mix the watercolors. He used the brush to decisively smear on the painting, without any hesitation. The incredible sky blue and pink are so bright as if they could make people blind. He said while painting, “I don’t like winter. I like the late spring and early summer. So many flowers are in bloom, and I can see those flowers that others can’t see. Many things make me happy, sex, love, fantasy. Fantasy is so wonderful!”

 Walasse Ting is special among the famous international artists in modern China. He did not complete the orthodox professional art education.No matter which kind of art, it is the artist himself who establishes his relationship,his feelings and his life attitude with the world, Just as many comedians are actually melancholic patients, a person who is lonely and lacks happiness expresses so many desires in his art and personal lifestyle, including the desire for women, and the desire for life. Walasse Ting called himself“the flower pirate” and admitted that he loves whoring. He painted women, flowers, cats, and parrots in high-saturation colors. He indulged and reveled in Xuan paper with color and ink, and fought against the loneliness and vanity of life to create his scene of illusion. Walasse Ting is  indulgent and self-willed. He abandoned the Chinese ethics and the moral judgment that ordinary people care about. He turned his life and creation into a gluttonous feast, which was brilliant, exciting and enjoyable to escape the darkness and shadow of the emptiness of life.

 Perhaps it is because Walasse Ting has not been constrained, his creation is very relaxed and free. He absorbed Eastern and Western cultures and formed his unique style: fluorescence, highly saturated Western colors, calligraphic strokes and lines. Using ricepaper as the material has the charm of Chinese ink painting. He said that his paintings are his life and reality. He likes the truth and dislikes the hypocrisy. He paints, but he does not care whether his paintings are belonged to a certain art genre or accepted by others. In response to Ruan Yizhong’s interview, he said, “I eat pigeons in the sky, yellow croakers in the sea and pigs on the ground; I speak French, English, and Mandarin; I have sex with women with blonde hair and blue eyes, women with red hair and green eyes, and women with black hair and black eyes. Have you seen the rainbow in the sky? It consists of red, blue, and yellow.”

 “The imaginary and naive scene of desire ” Art Exhibition of Walasse Ting” . Some of his works are from the collections of his former model and lover during his time in the Netherlands. They are Walasse Ting’s gifts to her and part of his desire and love. What critics do is academic discussion, what historians do is decide whether to stamp his name on the page of art history, while what Walasse Ting does is live and enjoy all the taste of life. Whether posterity likes Walasse Ting’s lifestyle or not, his works are the collection and presentation of the essence of an artist’s life, and life itself is more precious than concepts and academics.
