展览介绍:

 广东当代艺术中心将荣幸呈献范勃个展“游弋的谜语”,这是艺术中心易址后的首展。早期以具象写实而著称的范勃,在2014年以后的时间里,从“个体图式”的身份中抽离出来,尤其是对盲人群体进行了深入考察后,他的艺术创作开始转向与“身体”有关的命题。这个过程中,艺术家以“绘画笔记”“B2药片”“盲文”“药粉试管”“热感应图像”“图文互涉”“空间装置”等不同的形式、媒介与行为,尝试颠覆以往以视觉为主导的感知模式,并探索了身体中其他感官功能,如听觉、触觉、嗅觉多元化体验的可能性,以及在这些方式之间进一步转换与叠加,试图从更大的维度持续并深入地讨论“可见与不可见”这一对关系。

 “游弋的谜语”展览中,范勃将视角从“盲人”“药片”“日常生活”这样的社会现实语境转向进入一个由身体、生命和精神构筑的历史空间中继续挖掘“可见与不可见”的感知方式。在他讲述的那些远去英雄们的故事中,艺术家从局部视角戏谑性地审视了东西方文化中各式各样的神像,它们是被历史、文化和信仰构建出来,代表隐秘力量的“凝聚物”。而在从“神”到“像”的过程中被固化下来的这些符号系统,也终将在时间的轮转中烟消云散。在这个意义上,身体与精神、可见与不可见或许也是一次轮回。
 图像,是范勃最熟悉的阵地,这次带有“重返”意味的创作到底意味着什么?让我们再一次期待......

 Guangdong Contemporary Art Center is honorable to present the solo exhibition of Fan Bo, Floating Riddles. This is the first exhibition at the new home of GCAC. Fan Bo, who is well-known for his representational and realistic early works, has been deviating from the identity of Individual Schematism since 2014. After the in-depth study of blind people, his artistic creation shifts to the themes related to the body. In the process, he tries to overturn the perception model dominated by sight with different forms, media, and behaviors, such as painting notes, B2 pills, braille, medical power tubes, thermal-sensed images, intersection of images and words as well as spatial installations. It is to explore the possibility of the diversified experiences of hearing, touch and smell as well as the transition and superposition among them. It is a consistent but deeper discussion from a wider perspective on the relationship between the visible and the invisible.

 In Floating Riddles, Fan Bo will keep digging the perception between the visible and the invisible in a historical space constructed by the body, life, and spirit, instead of the social realistic context of blind people, pills, and daily life. In his stories of the deceased heroes, he inspects the oriental and occidental god statues in a jocose way from a local perspective as these various god statues are the condensation of the mystical power constructed by history, culture, and belief. And the symbology solidified in the way from god to the statue will eventually evaporate under the wheels of time. In that sense, body and spirit are in reincarnation just as the visible and the invisible.

 Image creation is the home of Fan Bo. And what does this creation of “re-entry” mean? Let’ all look forward to it…
